Applying for money to go to college? Start here!

  1. Create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) username and password.
    • The FSA ID will enable you to access federal student aid websites and electronically sign applications.
    • Both the student and the parent, if dependent, must have a unique FSA ID using different phone numbers and email addresses to register.

  2. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for the following student aid types:

The FAFSA collects information and calculates your family’s ability to help fund your education. Based on this information, a school can determine how much you will qualify for in grants, scholarships, loans and work.

To qualify for federal student financial aid, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • Be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen
    • Not be in default on a federal student loan or owe a repayment of a federal student grant receive at any institution.
    • Be enrolled as a degree-seeking student in an eligible program of study, and
    • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
